Our founder began building the business in Texas, sharing handcrafted hats through local markets, pop-ups, and community events. Over the years, that journey expanded to Hawaii, where we continued to connect with customers, participate in festivals and markets, and grow a community that has supported us every step of the way.

Long before a Torivana hat reaches your hands, its story begins in Ecuador.

Deep within Ecuador's coastal regions, families carefully cultivate the toquilla palm, the plant used to create the world's finest handwoven straw hats. For more than 200 years, this remarkable natural fiber has been at the heart of a craft that requires extraordinary patience, skill, and dedication.

The process begins in the fields, where the toquilla straw is harvested and prepared by hand. From there, it is transformed into something truly special through techniques passed down from generation to generation.
